Nina W. Brown, Ed.D., NCC, LPC is Professor of Counselor Education, Darden

College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Brown received her doctorate in Counselor Education from the College of William and Mary and has served as a member on the Virginia Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Substance Abuse Providers. She received additional education and training in group psychotherapy through the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy Society and the American Group Psychotherapy Association.

Rosemary A. Thompson, Ed.D., NCC, LPC is Supervisor of Guidance and

Counseling with Chesapeake Public Schools, Chesapeake, Virginia. During her 25 years in the public school sector, she has been a teacher, school counselor, guidance director, and school administrator. She has published widely in national counseling and educational journals on timely issues for counselors, educators, and helping professionals. She has presented nationally on issues such as School Counseling: Best Practices for Working in the Schools, Strategies for Youth Risk Prevention, Crisis Intervention and Crisis Management in the Schools, Preventing Teenage Suicide, Empowering Youth with Social and Emotional Learning and Cognitive Skills to name a few. Dr. Thompson is a National Board Certified Counselor, a Licensed Professional Counselor and maintains a private practice in educational consultation.
